Poseidon Heiligtum & antikes Mende
Mende wurde im 8. Jhd. BC von Siedlern aus Eretria von der Insel Euböa gegrüt. Die Reste der Festung und Polis Mende findet man auf dem Plateau und dem Hügel südlich von Kalandra in der Nähe des Hotel Mendi.
Das Poseidon Heiligtum am Anfang der Landzunge ist eines der ältesten in Griechenland.

a big sand dune stretching into the Aegean Sea. It is a place worth to visit. Overlooked by the old castle of Mende it's a touristic developed but still peaceful place to go and see. The sandy peninsula reaches out for hundreds of meters into the sea and offers plenty of space for sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
Poseidon Sanctuary & Ancient Mende
Mende was founded in the 8 th century BC from settlers of Eretria on the island of Euba. The city got famous by exporting local wine. The leftovers of the city of Mende today are found on the plateau and slopes of a hill south of Kalandra near the Hotel Mendi. The sanctuary of Mende was dedicated to Poseidon. It is one of the oldest in Greece and was in use from the 12th to the 2 nd century BC .
